The tiefling has to stay alive (or undead), but the dwarf can be perma-killed. The dwarf is much smarter, she didn't even need to be charmed to follow Strahd into the castle, she knows her best bet is to try and stay alive for as long as possible. The tiefling hates Strahd with a passion, and is very impulsive, always talking about how he would kick Strahd's ass once he shows his face. The characters are a sorcerer tiefling who was raised by demons, and a cleric hill dwarf who's a university teacher (and yes, these two argue all the time, but it's funny and in-character). However, those two specific characters really deserve punishment, and I want to show the rest of the party what happens when they do the opposite of what Strahd commanded them to do. The only advice I saw was that he would not harm them in return for info on the rest of the party sow distrust, have them kill each other, etc.
